What is Photo Restoration?
The practice of restoring the appearance of a digital copy of a physical photograph which has been damaged by natural or man-made causes, or simply affected by age. Software is used to repair the appearance of the digital images and add to the digital copy of the photo where pieces of the physical photograph are torn, missing, or damaged.
Digital photograph restoration uses a variety of image editing techniques to remove visible damage and aging effects from digital copies of physical photographs. Evidence of dirt, scratches, and other signs of photographic age are removed by using the software.
I fell in love with Photoshop for all the wrong reasons.
I found out about photo restoration by accident. Part of a program I was taking in University was to learn Adobe Photoshop. I found it to be a great tool for inserting my face into various pictures and creating funny images – none of which you will see on this site! Now I love the fact that I can restore and preserve cherished memories for the next generation.
